Fire Protection Technician – Sprinklerfitter

Type: Full-time

About the Job

Licensed Journeyman Sprinklerfitter (Fire Protection) and 3rd to 5th year Sprinklerfitter Apprentices (MA or RI)

Specific Standards

  • Keep abreast of the latest methodologies relating to the trade
  • Ensure the quality of the project(s).
  • Ensure that the work performed reflects the specifications and/or blue prints for the particular project.
  • Assure continuous work flow by thinking ahead of the work to be done and arrange for materials to be available when needed by working with the purchasing agent.
  • Apprise Project Manager of changes to scope of work so that a change order can be requested to cover the extra costs.
  • Make Project Manager aware of ways to decrease costs by suggesting alternate ways of completing the project that is according to code and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
  • Be a “coach, teacher and mentor” for trainees and/or apprentices.
  • Supervise and work on specific piping assembly products or systems.
  • Keep accurate time records.
  • Perform work in conformance with applicable codes.
  • Work with the Project Manager to ensure that projects are completed within or below the budgeted amount for labor and material.
  • Anything else as required by the supervisor.
  • All job-sites are to be left as clean or cleaner than when work commenced.
  • All customers are to be dealt with in a polite, courteous and helpful manner.
  • Eliminate customer complaints or rework required due to below standard work.
